First Class Pre-K Lead Teacher
We are looking for a lead teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or comparable training in the early childhood field. You and a qualified auxiliary teacher will be responsible for preparing small children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education. You will teach them important elements that they will encounter soon after they enter school life. Our goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education.

Starting salary is $42k with benefits—an additional 5k with a Master's degree. A signing bonus may be available. Strong training and support will be provided. All inquiries will remain confidential.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with the children during learning/free

choice time and gross motor time to facilitate
children’s play and to collect anecdotal notes
for GOLD.

  • Work alongside the auxiliary teacher to collect

documentation for GOLD.

  • Model conversation, cooperation, and

collaboration with the auxiliary teacher.
Mutual respect and professionalism is
expected at all times.

  • Sit with the children during meals and snacks

to facilitate appropriate conversation, model
respect, social skills, manners, and healthy
nutritional habits.

  • Engage in at least one extended conversation

with each child every day. Think of a way you
can track so children do not get left out and
you can invest positive time with each child.

  • View and utilize the auxiliary teacher as a

co-teacher.

  • Share all classroom responsibilities with the

auxiliary teacher such as whole group
lessons, read alouds, clean-up procedures,
taking children to the restroom, leading the
line when leaving the room, taking children to
the nurse, planning small group lessons,
dealing with discipline issues, etc.

  • Collect GOLD documentation, along with the

auxiliary teacher, while the auxiliary is
teaching a whole group lesson.
